Hiatus

Two reasons for hiatus:
- Creating second blog.
- The deep pit of self criticism is getting deeper the more I try to crawl out of it.

"Blind bowling" / Disabilities thinking

I often say that hanging around people with disabilities is wise because you get to see how hard they are trying while your life is cosidered normal. I don't pity them, I am more amazed and filled with positive energy to do better and love myself more too.

Yesterday was some special occasion in memory of someone important to our region's blind and other disabled people. He was blind and without both hands and used to be blind union president in our region for a while before the current one. Each year there is "blind bowling" competition in his memory. Each year groups of "bowlers" join and come to have good time in his memory and also to have fun bowling. Groups were either from blind unions or those that were affected after war (without hands etc.).

What is blind bowling? You have 9 pins in formation as seen on the picture below. The ball is on a wire. When you throw the ball in circle movement, it has to hit the pins from behind, not like usually from front. Competitors have 20 throws in which they have to topple as many pins as possible (when it is empty we put them all back). Biggest amount yesterday was over 50 pins in 20 throws. My part there was as someone to note down the scores, calculate them and announcing results etc. After it was also lunch time also organized through the memorial. It was nice time to hang out and think about the "normal" life :) Adding two pictures at this point.

As for the cherry on the top of the day I later in evening saw a video that perfectly fits to this day and also carries important meaning :D Check it out!
