Hiatus

Two reasons for hiatus:
- Creating second blog.
- The deep pit of self criticism is getting deeper the more I try to crawl out of it.

D-day (korean drama)

WARNING: possible spoilers so if you plan to watch this series, stop reading at this point :D

Seoul, South Korea's capital city gets struck by strong earthquake, paralyzing it. In the middle of it we see different kinds of doctors who try to deal with the consequences,, fighting the urge to see their own families or helping patients. Selections... Lack of medicine... lack of blood supply... lack of hygene... lack of people who would rightfully take action and do good things... The story more or less revolves around a doctor who is somehow reckless at times but always thinks of patients first and even with 1% of chances, he would still help them, not thinking that it might go wrong. He constantly clashes with hospital's director and some others but luckily there is his squad that always sticks by his side.

That's it for the story because don't want to spoil too much about it. Now for my opinion... beware :D I admit, I had some problems in second half mainly because of a**h*** of the director ^^ Seriously I wanted to get a mixer and just blend him :D It made it tough for me to watch because innocent people were affected by his stupid actions and pride and wish to be recognized and famous and... sigh... Yes I even had some small wishes to just let this drama go but since I stopped like 3 series this year already I got damn stubborn :)
Then about the production and such... Ok so the earthquake montage and damage was done quite well for a drama producted by not one of greatest tv-stations :P Although the story was lacking here and there... if the damage was that bad, then make it look like it... there was fighting for gas so it was totally weird how main's bike never ran out of it... o.O or how main dyed his coma mother's hair towards the end... where the hell did he get that if 80% of buildings collapsed?? Or... what bothered me most was... it's Seoul... Wikipedia says it has over 10 million habitants... in reality there would be a lot lot more croud, hungry people, wandering people, people going to shelters, hospital etc.
To sum it up: it lacked a little realistic feeling to it because it focused on characters and their fights... the threats with main's coma mom became really hilarious towards the end because it seemed like when nothing was going on, that popped up o.O Filling the emptiness... hmmm
Then about acting. Must say the cast was pretty good, especially liked the lovable characters although main girl was so so the more the time passed by... had bit of a problem with her attitude and such :D Ok the director, high praise for being such a convincing negative person lol although I still dislike you!! Overall expected more emotions of hopelessness, maybe the building of characters could have been done better in that way :D

Overall: it's okay to watch this series, it is pretty okay if you are interested in such theme. Although don't expect anything like american disaster movies, it is different :D Not that spectacular :D But at one point it did made me cry crocodile tears so it got me to my heart at least once or twice :D

Lastly tiny insight into our lead boy :) Till next time~~
